Versailles!

Bonjoure! Hope you all are enjoying keeping up with the exciting things we have been doing this past week in Paris!

Today we visited the Palace of Versailles, and it is quite magnificent. We toured the halls of the château, and were awed by the extravance and beauty of each room. There is gold everywhere, paintings on about every ceiling, a view of the gardens through every window, and even whole rooms made of marble. The palace is so huge, there are so many pathways to choose from, and there is so much to look at, that I ended up getting lost at one point. I wonder if Queen Marie Antoinette ever got lost wandering around the huge castle, it seems like something that would be easy to do. We also agreed that it would be the perfect place to play hide and seek.

After I had, to my relief, been found, we ventured into the lush gardens of Versailles. Before we could explore, it began to pour rain so we found shelter and had a nice lunch in the garden. When we were finished and once the sun had come out, we stared on our walk through the hedges.

The hedges stand about 40ft. tall, and we would stumble upon pretty fountains as we wandered through the maze.  Afterwards, we layed in the grass by the lake, taking in the warm sun and picking tiny, colorful flowers.

We even had an encounter with some sweet boys who picked one of us some flowers- the French boys just love us!

While we took a break by the lake today, some of us girls got into a silly mood and decided to work on a music video we have decided to make just for fun to One Direction`s song "What Makes you Beautiful."

We also had a fun time dancing behind our obvlious (at the time) professor, Dr. Malvern, and a random guy dressed as an Egyptian mummy outside of the palace, in hopes of submitting a video to the Ellen show for the "Dance Dare."

Later in the day, back in the city we saw a man sitting on the corner of the street playing the piano, and he was really good too!

We ended our night with an adventurous trip just down the street for the delicious nutella crepes they sell here. Just another fun day in Paris!

Beau Soir!
